Cinema & theater

Eindhoven offers you a varied and qualitative cultural agenda. Live performances –music and stage- can be visited every evening at the Municipal Theater, the Music Center and various other venues in the city. The VVV Tourist Information supplies visitors with up-to-date information with regard to what goes on where and when.

Cinemas
There are three large cinemas in the city center that play popular movies: Euro Cinema on the Keizersgracht ans Pathé Cinema on the Dommelstraat.

Then there is also Plaza Futura on the Leenderweg at the edge of the city center. Here you can sample the classics, French and Italian cinema, other international movies, and unusual theater productions. While you’re there don’t forget to have a drink in the trendy Plaza-bar.

Theaters
Municipal Theater Eindhoven (Stadschouwburg)
The Municipal takes center stage in Eindhoven’s cultural landscape. National Dance, International Dance, Cabaret, Classic Music, Modern Music, a variety of plays and other performances mean that the two theaters in the building are almost always in use. Incidentally, Business School Notenboom traditionally hosts its graduation ceremony in this building.

Frits Philips Music Hall (Muziekcentrum Frits Philips)
Famed for its acoustics and conveniently located in the very heart of Eindhoven, this modern up-to-date concert hall hosts jazz, pop, world music, classical and more almost every night.

De Effenaar
A club with a nationwide reputation which organises concerts, dance parties and theme nights that draw visitors from all over the country.

Theater het Klein
Once a pantomime theater “het Klein” now invites all forms of modern platform art onto it’s stage. There are also frequent exhibitions. Worth visiting for the pictureseque courtyard it is situated in.
