Night Life
One of the great advantages of a night out on the town in Dutch cities is that the city centers are very compact and all the places "to be" are within easy walking distance of each other. In this, Eindhoven's city center is no exception, enabling you to migrate between the 5 areas of the city where night life is concentrated in the form of restaurants, pubs, clubs and cinemas. Each area has a distinctive character and atmosphere and it is well worth the effort sampling them all.

"De Markt"
In the very heart of the city centre you'll find "de Markt". Lining this old market square are a large number of Grand Cafés offering food and beverages. All the establishments have terraces and on sunny days these are filled to the max with hundreds of people enjoying each other's company, a bit of sunshine, a drink and that enjoyable pasttime of "people watching". The Holland Casino in Eindhoven is also situated here.

Stationsplein
This is the area opposite the Eindhoven Central Station. Here you'll find a lot of restaurants offering a very diverse taste of global cuisine, as well as cafés, bars and trendy night clubs. In Dommelstraat, a side street of Stationsplein, there are more pubs, snackbars, restaurants and the venue"De Effenaar", which organises concerts, dance parties and theme nights that draw visitors from all over the country.

Stratumseind
Ideally suited for a pub-crawl, no other street in the Netherlands has as many pubs and cafés as Stratumseind, you'll find more than 40 pubs here, as well as number of venues offering food in various price ranges.

De Bergen
Here you may sample the architecture and atmosphere of "Old" Eindhoven which has remained relatively intact in this area. There are a number of pleasant laid-back pubs and small restaurants on the "Kleine Berg" which are a favourite destination of the more artistically inclined night life population. Only a few minutes walk to Wilhelminaplein.

Wilhelminaplein
If "de Markt" is the heart of Eindhoven, then Wilhelminaplein is its soul. There are a lot of authentic old style pubs here, as well as terraces and a whole range of live-performances. During the summer there are frequent open-air performances. Every Sunday afternoon and Monday evening sees live performances at the Wilhelmina Café.
