Study in Eindhoven
European Crossroads The city, in the
southern Dutch province of Brabant, has a very central location with
regard to other West European cities and is easily accessible by road,
rail and air.
Distance to a few other destinations in Western
Europe: 88 kilometers to Maastricht, 100 kilometers to Antwerp,
100 kilometers to Düsseldorf, 110 kilometers to Rotterdam, 120 kilometers
to Amsterdam, 140 kilometers to Brussels, 380 kilometers to Frankfurt, 450
kilometers to Paris, and 500 kilometers to London.
City of Light In The Netherlands Eindhoven
is often referred to as the “Lichtstad” (City of Light). Originally this
nickname referred to the presence of the multinational company Philips,
whose humble origin was the production of light bulbs, but these days the
name is just as apt, as the city hosts a lively nightlife, a busy cultural
agenda, a range of international conferences and fairs, elaborate sport
facilities, and the cutting edge of design and technology, not to mention
a very stimulating economic environment.
The Green City Contrary to many other
centres of economic and industrial growth, Eindhoven has retained much
greenery. Just minutes from the city center one can find some of the most
picturesque natural landscapes in The Netherlands, like the Genneper Parks
area, or the Kempen and the Peel countryside, which can be explored on
foot or by bicycle.
